As I sit here reflecting on the journey that led me to found Acadia’s Hike, LLC, I am reminded of the pivotal moment that changed everything. It was the day my dog, Acadia, was diagnosed with a two torn cruciates. The news hit me like a ton of bricks, and the estimated $8,000 bill to repair her knees was a staggering blow. I felt like my world had been turned upside down.

As I navigated the emotional rollercoaster of caring for such an injured pet, I couldn’t help but think about all the other people out there who might be facing similar struggles. The weight of veterinary expenses can be crushing, and I knew that many pet owners were forced to make impossible choices between their pet’s health and their own financial stability.

But as I struggled to come to terms with Acadia’s diagnosis, a conversation with a fellow hiking friend sparked an idea. She suggested that I organize hikes to raise money for vet bills, and suddenly, everything clicked into place. It was as if the universe had conspired to bring me to this moment.

For years, I had dreamed of organizing hiking events to raise funds to assist with pets in need. And now, with Acadia’s diagnosis as a catalyst, I had the motivation and clarity to turn that dream into reality.

About Acadia

Meet Acadia, a lovable mixed-breed dog who joined our family in August 2023. We first started fostering her in early August when she was just a timid pup, around 4 months old. New people and dogs would scare her, but it didn’t take long for us to see the loving, adventurous spirit within her.

Acadia’s fears began to subside as we took her on hikes and trails, providing her with a safe space to grow and explore. She quickly developed a passion for hiking and adventure, and by late August, we knew she was meant to be a part of our family.

Today, Acadia is a bundle of love, energy, and adventure. She enjoys spending time with her human feline and canine friends. She can not wait to get back on the trail and find new adventures.
