Acadia’s First Hike – Dog vs. Cat Fundraiser Hike | May 17, 2025

Join Us for Acadia’s First Hike: A Fun-Filled Fundraiser for a Great Cause!

Are you a dog lover, an avid hiker, or just looking for a heartwarming way to spend the day? Acadia’s First Hike is the event for you! We’re thrilled to announce this special dog vs. cat-themed fundraiser hike happening on May 17, 2025, at Seven Lakes State Park in Holly, MI. This event isn’t just about enjoying the great outdoors—it’s also about helping Acadia, a beloved rescue dog, receive life-changing orthopedic surgeries.

One of the most exciting aspects of our event is our search for a puppy kissing booth or a dog-friendly adoption event. If you’re a rescue, shelter, or organization interested in setting up a booth, we’d love to connect!

What We’re Looking For

  • 🐾 A puppy kissing booth (our top preference!)
  • 🐾 An adoption event featuring people and dog-friendly pups
  • 🐾 A rescue that wants to support Team Dog, encouraging sign-ups and rallying dog lovers to victory!
  • 🐾 Friendly, engaging setups where attendees can interact with dogs
  • 🐾 Each vehicle attending must have a Michigan State Recreation Passport

How Your Rescue Can Benefit

As part of our commitment to giving back, we’re offering an incredible incentive: ✨ If Team Dog wins the fundraiser hike AND we sell over 100 tickets, we will donate 10% of ticket sales to the participating dog rescue!

Additionally, we will have donation jars at the event—one for dogs and one for cats. The rescue participating in the puppy kissing booth will receive all funds collected in the dog donation jar, while the cat rescue, Grissly’s Waywards TNR and Cat Rescue (Highland, MI, Michelle Keel), will receive funds from the cat donation jar.

How to Participate

If you or someone you know is part of a rescue that would be interested in setting up a booth, please reach out to us! We’d love to support a local rescue, help find dogs their forever families, and make this event extra special.

📢 Help Us Reach 100 Tickets Sold! 📢

We have an ambitious goal of selling at least 100 tickets! Once we hit that milestone, 10% of all ticket sales will be donated to the winning team’s rescue. The team with the most donations in their jar at the event will be declared the winner!

If we are unable to secure a puppy kissing booth and the dog team wins, the donation will go to CARAAF, an organization that provides grants to families who rescue dogs in need of medical care. (Note: We are not partnered or affiliated with CARAAF—please contact them directly for more details.)

Every Rescue Wins!

Even if a team doesn’t win, each rescue will still receive the donations collected in their respective jars, ensuring that every participating organization benefits from this event.
